Prebiotic Fibre

Prebiotic Fibre

Prebiotics are non-digestible food ingredients that stimulate the growth or activity of bacteria in the digestive system which are beneficial to the health of the body. Prebiotic fibre is a a soluble fibre and a functional food ingredient! It is also called inulin and can be derived from the chicory root, or other sources like soybeans, raw oats or jicama. You can’t taste, see or feel this fibre when it’s mixed into a food or drink.

Some studies have shown that including prebiotic fibre in your diet can help increase your body’s absorption of calcium1 and magnesium2 .

Combining Probiotics with Prebiotics

Adding probiotics to your system can help crowd out the “unfriendly” micro-organisms by creating a supportive environment for the friendly ones to regain lost territory. The complimentary combination of probiotics and prebiotic fibre naturally aids in digestion.
