Preparation time:
10 minutes
Yield:
Makes approximately 1 ½ cups (350 mL)
INGREDIENTS
| 1 cup | Astro Original Balkan Style Plain yogourt | 250 mL |
| 1 tsp | Worcestershire sauce | 5 mL |
| 1 tbsp | white vinegar | 15 mL |
| 1 | clove garlic, minced | 1 |
| ½ tsp | salt | 2.5 mL |
| 1 tsp | dried oregano leaves | 5 mL |
| 2 tbsp | olive oil | 30 mL |
| 4 oz | blue cheese, crumbled | 100 g |
PREPARATION
- In a blender or food processor add Astro Original Balkan Style Plain yogourt, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, garlic, salt and oregano. Blend until smooth.
- While motor is running slowly add olive oil. Add blue cheese and pulse until just blended (dressing should still have a few pieces of blue cheese visible).
- Can be used immediately. Cover and refrigerate any leftover dressing for up to two days.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
- Use as a dressing for your favourite garden salad.
- Toss with crisp romaine lettuce and wedges of summer-fresh tomatoes.
- Use as a dip for vegetables or chicken wings.
- Replace Astro Original Balkan Style Plain yogourt for any other Astro Plain yogourt. Using a lower fat yogourt will result in a thinner dressing.
- Replace Astro Original Balkan Style Plain yogourt with drained Astro yogourt for a thicker, creamer dressing that could double as a dip for vegetables or chicken wings.
- Add ¼ tsp (1.2 mL) of cayenne pepper for a zesty blue cheese dressing.
