A zesty dressing perfect for adding a punch of flavours to typical week night salads and meals.

10 cups (2.5 L) red leaf lettuce (about 2 heads), torn, washed and dried
1 red pepper
½ red onion, sliced
1 cup (250 mL) fresh tomatoes, diced
½ cup (125 mL) Black Diamond sharp cheddar shredded cheese
½ cup (125 mL) crushed tortilla chips
½ cup (125 mL) Southwest Salad Dressing

1 cup (250 mL) Astro Original Balkan Plain 6% yogourt
½ cup (125 mL) Lactantia 1% milk
1 oz (28 g) package dried ranch dressing and/or dip mix
½ cup (125 mL) BBQ sauce, original or plain styles work best

  1. For Salad: In a large bowl add all ingredients. Toss together until all ingredients are evenly coated with dressing.
  2. If preparing in advance; add tortilla chips, dressing and toss right before serving or the salad will get soggy.

  3. For Dressing: In a plastic container with tight fitting lid mix Astro Original yogourt and Lactantia milk until smooth. Add Ranch mix and blend well. Cover and let sit for a minimum of 20 minutes to allow flavours to blend.
  4. Add BBQ sauce and mix well. Can be used immediately or stored, covered in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
